Date: Tuesday 12th June 2018
Venue: Theatre Deli, 202 Eyre Street, Sheffield, S1 4QZ
Theme: Deal With It
So much of the world around us and the problems within it seem beyond our reach. Our anxieties and worries are felt all at once about the things that concern us, and as they start to rush and flow we become progressively more overwhelmed by things that feel beyond our control.
The first step in solving any problem will always be admitting that there is one and we already have quite a list; whether it's a situation, doctrine or crisis, it's the next steps that are crucial...listening, empathising, taking the time and genuinely seeking to understand. To be an agent of change at any level, you have to talk and learn about the real issues with others in order to find their true source.
To stand any chance of creating a better world we have to look challenges in the eye. Making a difference isn't about knowing the answers, it's about asking the right questions and finding the conviction to act. Despite what we are endlessly told the world is a kind and beautiful place, full of people willing to stand up, take responsibility for the hand we've been dealt and shoulder the weight of steering the ship onto a different course.
We all care about something...many things, but often think there is nothing to do except point and blame. There is more we can do!
One person really can make a difference and..."Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." ~ Margaret Mead
Join us on the 12th as we hear from those that are and find ways we all can.
